There's no place like home for the Mendon Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 60-47 victory over Burr Oak on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Mendon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mendon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Gorham out in front who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Gorham pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quincy Blair, who scored 17 points.
Mendon's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Burr Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mendon will take on Howardsville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burr Oak, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Athens at 7:30 p.m. Athens comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
