The Del Oro Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Del Oro will be strutting in after a win while Lincoln will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Del Oro didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Chico, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. The victory was just what Del Oro needed coming off of a 59-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Del Oro relied on the efforts of Shaelyn Parry, who scored 14 points, and Ysabella Von Seipler, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Romani, who scored 6 points.
Lincoln kicked off their season on the road last Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 54-35 bruising from St. Francis. Lincoln found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 25% worse than the opposition.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sophia Gines, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds. Carrington Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
The victory got Del Oro back to even at 1-1. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
