Omaha Central dropped down to 13-9 on Tuesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 5-1 to the Bellevue East Chieftains. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.
Omaha Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ada Jantzen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for Bellevue East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Bellevue East's side, Alisha Mcmurtry made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mcmurtry has posted since back in August. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
