The Erie Royals waltzed into their game Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Franklin out 34-32. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Erie also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Erie was led to victory by Deaja Williams and Draya Neavins. Williams scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Neavins scored 17 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Neavins has scored at least 25% of Erie's points.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Boal, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Boal is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jennifer Blum was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Erie's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Erie will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cathedral Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Franklin is on the road again on Thursday and play against Warren at 7:15 p.m. on January 11th.
