The Speedway Sparkplugs came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Indianapolis Lutheran by a score of 59-49. That's another feather in the cap for Speedway, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Speedway had a senior duo take command as Alex DeLisle scored 15 points along with two steals and Daniella Galvez scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Galvez hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Hayli Clampitt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caitlyn Brooks, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace King, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Speedway is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.
Speedway will square off against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Speedway is ranked 166th). As for Indianapolis Lutheran, they will take on Eminence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
