The Riverside Vikings will take on the Mid Valley Spartans at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Riverside was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lakeland on Monday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 8-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won four in a row.

Cooper Borowski was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Borowski was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Ethan Slocum looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
Back at the plate, Nicholas Bohenek was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jason Posluszny, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.
Riverside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mid Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders an 11-0 shutout. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Riverside pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mid Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Riverside might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Mid Valley in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
