Softball Recap: Mead Finds Home Field Redemption Against Monarch

There's no place like home for Mead, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Monarch Coyotes with a sharp 13-1 win on Tuesday. The Mavericks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Mykell Kennedy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Ainsley Lehman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Mead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mead's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mead will welcome Green Mountain at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Monarch, they will be playing at home against Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something the Coyotes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
