Baseball Recap: Hardaway Wins Going Away Against Kendrick

While Hardaway didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Kendrick Cherokees 21-3 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Gabriel Ruiz looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Hardaway let Ryan Rodriguez and Bobby Gary run wild. Rodriguez scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Gary went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Gary a new career-high. Tay Shaun Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Hardaway and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Hardaway will venture away from home to face off against Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hardaway will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Kendrick, they will host Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
