Elkhorn North extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 13-7. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bennington Badgers 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Badgers on September 11th, they had to take a 5-3 loss.
Paige Asher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Naomi Cameron was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Maxell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.
As for Bennington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
