After flying high against Emporia  last Friday, Manhattan came back down to earth. The Indians were beaten by the Northwest Grizzlies 40-13 on Friday.  Finn Watson threw for 140 yards  on 12 of 28 attempts.   Evan Middleton was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards.  On the ground,  Joseph Mortensen rushed for 73 yards and one  score on only five carries.
  Augie Fast produced another solid  performance rushing for 254 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per carry for Northwest. With that strong performance,  Fast is now averaging an impressive 121.3  rushing yards per game.
Manhattan's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Northwest,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-1.
 Manhattan and Northwest should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. The Indians will  take on  Topeka  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday with a big rank  advantage  (7 vs. 99). Meanwhile,  Northwest (ranked fifth) will meet South (ranked 127th)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
