Portersville Christian were the 51-23 winner over the Aquinas Academy Crusaders when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Portersville Christian fell 56-46 to Aquinas Academy on Saturday. Portersville Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Violet Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for Aquinas Academy. The match was Johnson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Emily Fisher was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Portersville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Aquinas Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portersville Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity Christian at 4:15 p.m. on January 6, 2024. As for Aquinas Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rochester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Aquinas Academy is ranked tenth).
