Baseball Recap: Hesperia Wins Going Away Against Serrano

Hesperia hadn't done well against Serrano recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Scorpions were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over the Diamondbacks. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hesperia got a massive performance out of Tristen Vanpool, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Vanpool a new career-high. Josh Flores also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Hesperia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .620. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Hesperia and bumps their season record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Serrano, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Hesperia will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Diamondbacks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
