The Sunnyside Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Fowler.
When it comes to explaining why Sunnyside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ruby Cartwright. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 54.8% of Sunnyside's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyera Dickson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Sunnyside has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Fowler, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Sunnyside the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McLane at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. Fowler will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Parlier at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Parlier will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
