The Bolton Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. George's. While losing is never fun, Bolton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while St. George's is ranked 103rd).
Bolton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamiyah Jones, who scored 27 points. Jones scored a full 52.9% of Bolton's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of I'mari Pointer, who scored 16 points.
Bolton's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. George's, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Bolton will head out on the road to face off against Munford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. George's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brighton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
