The Cleveland Cavaliers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They really took it to Thousand Oaks for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-37 victory at home. Cleveland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 21 points or more this season.
Cleveland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Valerie Anzora out in front who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and six steals. Anzora is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Calderon, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals.
Thousand Oaks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kira Jones, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Deanna Pham, who scored nine points.
Cleveland now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Thousand Oaks, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Cleveland and Providence will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at. Thousand Oaks' road trip will continue as they head out to face Pacifica at 9:00 a.m. on December 26th.
