Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Canon City). Everything went their way against the Kennedy Commanders on Saturday as they made off with  a  15-2 victory. The Tigers not only won  on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win  since October 3, 2024 (when they won  19-4).
 Bentley Brandt and  Khloe Weise made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing,  Brandt   pitched 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Meanwhile,  Weise   pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season. At the plate,  Brandt  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs and two  RBI, while  Weise  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  runs. That  home run marked the first that  Weise has  launched this season.
 In other batting news,  Cammi Leis was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaydee Ronco, who  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI and one  triple.
 Canon City  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Canon City's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Kennedy, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
 Looking ahead, Canon City will head out to  challenge Pueblo East  at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 10.8  runs per game this season. As for Kennedy, they will face off against Englewood at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday.
