Basketball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Takes a Loss

Claysburg-Kimmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 62-45 fall against the Southern Fulton Indians. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Claysburg-Kimmel still got an impressive performance from Brayden Haney, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Haney's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cory Walter, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Claysburg-Kimmel was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Southern Fulton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Stotler, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Ritz, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Claysburg-Kimmel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Southern Fulton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Claysburg-Kimmel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-59 loss against Southern Huntingdon County on the 13th. As for Southern Fulton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-35 win against Northern Bedford County on the 13th.
