The Jackson County Panthers will head out to square off against the Clarke Central Gladiators at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Jackson County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Jackson County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Alcovy on Friday as Jackson County made off with a 19-0 win. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Jack Teague looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Bryce Garrison was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Colin Price, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
Jackson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Clarke Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Apalachee.
Diego Martinez-Gamero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. He also put up three walks, which were his first of the season.
On the hitting side, Clarke Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casper Emory, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Clarke Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Jackson County, their record is now 8-5.
Clarke Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jackson County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Clarke Central, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Jackson County's hitters?
Jackson County came up short against Clarke Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 9-6. Can Jackson County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
