Riverwood proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Woodstock Wolverines. The win was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on three straight.
Not much got past May Weis, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Woodstock off the board. Weis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Riverwood secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Zoe Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Taylor's first of the season.
Riverwood's record now sits at 6-4. As for Woodstock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
