Canon-McMillan is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Chartiers Valley is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Canon-McMillan Big Macs will take on the Chartiers Valley Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Canon-McMillan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Chartiers Valley is ranked 29th).
Last Thursday, Canon-McMillan came up short against Mt. Lebanon and fell 56-46. That's two games in a row now that Canon-McMillan has lost by exactly ten points.
Despite the loss, Canon-McMillan got a solid performance out of Nadia Davis, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Davis hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Miller, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chartiers Valley earned a 52-39 win over Mt. Lebanon on Monday.
Canon-McMillan's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Chartiers Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Canon-McMillan was dealt a bruising 62-22 loss at the hands of Chartiers Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chartiers Valley's Iyla Ozbey, who scored 14 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Now that Canon-McMillan knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
