The Loyalton Grizzlies lost against the Quincy Trojans last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Loyalton fell 40-27 to Quincy. Loyalton has not had much luck with Quincy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophie Holland, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Holland scored a full 29.6% of Loyalton's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mollie Griffin, who scored eight points.
Loyalton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Quincy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Loyalton and Modoc will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Modoc focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. Quincy and Portola will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Portola will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 865th, while Quincy is ranked 217th).
