Even though the Weskan Coyotes scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Logan/Palco still came out on top. Logan/Palco snuck past Weskan with a 65-59 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Logan/Palco.
Logan/Palco was led to victory by Cameron Morgan and Rhett Kats. Morgan scored 17 points, while Kats dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Kats has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Ashmore, who scored nine points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Weskan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trey Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Allen is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brennan Aldridge, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Weskan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan/Palco only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Logan/Palco is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Weskan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan/Palco will take on Plainville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Logan/Palco is coming into the match with six straight wins at home, so Plainville is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Weskan will take on St. Francis at TBD on Monday. St. Francis is coming into the match with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Weskan will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
