Basketball Recap: Thomas Mitchell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Trinity Christian Academy

Englewood's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They secured a 41-35 W over the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.

Englewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Mitchell, who posted six points along with six steals and five assists. Mitchell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Prennis Alston was another key player, putting up six points along with five steals and three blocks.

Englewood's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Englewood and Harvest Community will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Harvest Community is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Global Outreach Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
