Clemens is 1-9 against Steele since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clemens Buffaloes will head out on the road to square off against the Steele Knights at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Clemens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
Clemens suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of East Central by a score of 50-47. Clemens has struggled against East Central recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Duda Igiehon, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Atiana Cook, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Steele came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Judson 47-33.
Clemens has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season. As for Steele, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-8.
Clemens ended up a good deal behind Steele in their previous matchup on January 9th, losing 64-49. Can Clemens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
