Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Foresthill

Foresthill extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 8-6. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildfires also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Waylon Gossic made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last six games. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Like Foresthill, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Glen Boley. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits. Boley was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Morgan Wang made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Angelo Seifried, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Coming up, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy will take on Buckingham Charter at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Foresthill will be paying especially close attention to the Wolves' contest: after the Wolves face off against Encina, they'll take on Foresthill again at 12:00 p.m. on April 11.
