Cottondale has gone a perfect 7-0 against Franklin County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hornets will welcome the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Cottondale beat Wewahitchka 24-16. Those 24 points were actually the fewest the Hornets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Cottondale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zacarius Collins out in front who rushed for 107 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries. Collins is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 107 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trashonn Collins, who picked up 50 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin County). They breezed past Graceville to the tune of 48-6 on Friday. With that win, the Seahawks brought their scoring average up to 29 points per game.
Cottondale better keep an eye on Sadiq Jones. He was instrumental in Franklin County's win, rushing for 74 yards and two scores, while also catching one TD. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Jones a new career-high.
Franklin County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
One reason for the win was Franklin County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Brayden Brown was especially locked on to Graceville's QB and sacked him twice. Franklin County received some extra help from Rylan Wood, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
The victory made it two in a row for Franklin County and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 19 points in those games. As for Cottondale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Cottondale has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 326.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Franklin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 167.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Cottondale against Franklin County when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-27 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
