The Central Dauphin Rams came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Cumberland Valley 51-25. Considering Central Dauphin has won four matchups by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Central Dauphin was led to victory by Olivia Green and Alexis Ferguson. Green scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals, while Ferguson scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Ferguson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Fletcher, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Cumberland Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sienna Manns. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with four steals. Manns scored a full 28% of Cumberland Valley's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Central Dauphin's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Cumberland Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Central Dauphin will head out on the road to face off against Carlisle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlisle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Central Dauphin is ranked 33rd). As for Cumberland Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Central York at 7:15 p.m. Central York's defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Cumberland Valley's offense will have their work cut out for Cumberland Valley.
