It was a good run, but Greenway unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Estrella Foothills Wolves, falling 53-32. The matchup marked the Demons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Greenway still got an impressive performance from Matthew Calderon, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Calderon has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Slocum, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Estrella Foothills was led to victory by Ryan Hitchcock and Tony Lopez. Hitchcock put up 20 points and seven rebounds, while Lopez went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hitchcock has scored at least a third of Estrella Foothills' points. Another player making a difference was Luke Berrelez, who had eight points.

Greenway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Estrella Foothills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Greenway will head out to challenge Tempe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Greenway likes a good challenge. As for Estrella Foothills, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-42 loss against Buckeye on the 13th.
