It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Live Oak Acorns ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hill 48-45. The victory was just what Live Oak needed coming off of a 52-10 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Kathliyah Clement, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rian Henderson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Live Oak has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. As for Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak will take on Westmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 904th, while Live Oak is ranked 439th). As for Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gilroy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
