The Turlock Bulldogs will square off against the El Capitan Gauchos at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Turlock is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.
Turlock's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Pitman.

Joshua Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Dutch Lawrence tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaron Rocha, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, El Capitan fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Kimball on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 12-11. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Gauchos still had to take the loss.
Angel Rivera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Saucedo, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs.
Turlock pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for El Capitan, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Turlock skirted past El Capitan 5-4 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
