Having just played yesterday, the Swansea Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Swansea came up short against Orangeburg-Wilkinson and fell 43-31. Swansea has not had much luck with Orangeburg-Wilkinson recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Lower Richland unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Westwood 50-44. Lower Richland found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 15 to 7 on offense.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Chi?nya Isaac and Makiah Thompson. Thompson had a solid game and scored 12 points along with five assists. Meanwhile, Isaac was balling out in the loss, scoring 20 points along with four steals.
Swansea has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Lower Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Swansea was taken down by Lower Richland 56-14 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Swansea avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
