The South Fayette Lions lost against the Bethel Park Black Hawks back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Fayette's rough 49-29 loss to Bethel Park might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Fayette in their matchups with Bethel Park: they've now lost three in a row.
South Fayette's loss came despite strong showings from Michael Gimigliano and Nico Lamonde. Gimigliano picked up 234 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Lamonde threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Gimigliano was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 64 yards.
South Fayette's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. As for Bethel Park, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.
South Fayette will be playing at home against Upper St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bethel Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Peters Township at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peters Township is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
