The Pflugerville Panthers''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 29-22 victory over Rouse. The win was all the more spectacular given Pflugerville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 705th, while Rouse is ranked 299th).
Rhyder Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for Pflugerville as he rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Miller was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Pflugerville also got help from Kyran Mcfrazier who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.
Rouse's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Justin Cannon, who rushed for 123 yards. Another player making a difference was Keller Rogers, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pflugerville's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Rouse, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Pflugerville will head out on the road to face off against Pflugerville Connally at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Rouse, they will be playing at home against Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
