The King City Mustangs lost against the North Monterey County Condors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between King City and North Monterey County wasn't particularly close, with King City falling 48-33. King City has struggled against North Monterey County recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Malaya Carrillo and Mikayla Mclane certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Carrillo scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Mclane scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amity Hearne, who scored a point along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
King City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for North Monterey County, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King City will take on Marina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully King City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday. As for North Monterey County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. St. Francis will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something North Monterey County surely won't give up without a fight.
