Washington Township hasn't had much luck against Griffith recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Senators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:15 p.m.
Washington Township fell victim to Kouts and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Mustangs & Fillies.
Meanwhile, Griffith got the win against Whiting on Tuesday by a conclusive 18-2. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.
Logan Jimenez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Griffith is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-10 otherwise. Jimenez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jason Quillin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Griffith's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jonathan Nevarez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Griffith was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Washington Township's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Griffith, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Washington Township has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Griffith struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
