Cassius Stanley confirmed
via Twitter that he will continue his high school career next year at
Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.).
Regarded as the No. 11 overall recruit in the Class of 2019 by
247Sports, Stanley could be part of a super team of sorts by joining No. 1 rising senior prospect
Marvin Bagley III (though there have been whispers about him leaving as well).
A 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard/wing, Stanley averaged 17.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as a sophomore at Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.). The Wolverines won 23 game and reached Division II state regional semifinals. to the California Division II state semifinals. Five of the team's top seven scorers were freshmen or sophomores.
Stanley received honorable mention on the MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Team in April.
Kenyon Martin, Jr., the son of former NBA star Kenyon Martin, also told MaxPreps he will be joining the Sierra Canyon program next season.
Despite a disappointing end to the 2016-17 season, Sierra Canyon went 27-3 and finished ranked No. 18 nationally by MaxPreps. The Trailblazers look loaded for another big run in 2017-18.
