Rutland pushed their record up to 4-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Northeast has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rutland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Northeast suffered a grim 16-8 defeat to Rutland when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Northeast avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
