Softball Recap: Coosa Sets Scoring Season-High Against Gordon Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coosa). They blew past the Gordon Central Warriors 20-9 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Coosa let Dixie Orebaugh and Genna Nicholson run wild. Orebaugh got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Nicholson went 4-for-5 with six RBI and two stolen bases. Those three runs gave Orebaugh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierra Bain, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Coosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Coosa's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Gordon Central, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coosa will welcome Rome at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gordon Central, they will be playing at home against Gordon Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
