Sand Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 11-8 to the George Washington Patriots. Even though they lost, the Scorpions' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Lyla Almeida was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nazariah Sweat, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Sand Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for George Washington, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Sand Creek will challenge Elizabeth at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for George Washington, they will venture away from home to face off against Northfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Nighthawks have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
