After flying high against the Passaic Indians last Friday, The Hackensack Comets came back down to earth. Hackensack was dealt a 41-7 loss at the hands of Union City on Friday. Hackensack was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Mark Boyd was a one-man wrecking crew for Union City as he rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Boyd was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Tyler Koffa also helped out as he racked up 111 rushing yards.
Hackensack's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Union City, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Hackensack will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Teaneck on November 23rd. Teaneck is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Union City, they will face off against West Orange at TBD on Friday. West Orange will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Union City is ranked 33rd).
