Meanwhile, Canton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Athens 36-32.
Despite the loss, Canton saw an underclassman step up: Cailyn Van Noy scored 17 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Van Noy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daveian Crowley, who scored four points along with 15 rebounds.
Northeast Bradford pushed their record up to 5-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Everything came up roses for Northeast Bradford against Canton when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-33 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Canton's Kendall Kitchen, who scored 23 points.
