If the Jefferson Grizzlies were riding high off their 46-25 takedown of the El Primero Lobos last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jefferson fell just short of Hillsdale by a score of 51-49. Jefferson lost against Hillsdale in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-23 score last time.
Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Jerzey Gallegos, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gallegos pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grace Wang, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hillsdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will challenge Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillsdale, they will head out on the road to face off against El Camino at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
