After losing to the Central Lancers the last time they met, the Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Cristo Rey Philadelphia walked away with a 46-37 win over Central on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cristo Rey Philadelphia.
Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayda Wright, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Wright has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Meer, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
The win got Cristo Rey Philadelphia back to even at 5-5. As for Central, they bumped their record down to 7-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Cristo Rey Philadelphia will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Little Flower Catholic for Girls at 1:00 p.m. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on Academy at Palumbo at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
