The Chestnut Ridge Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Bishop McCort 66-28. While losing is never fun, Chestnut Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 216th, while Bishop McCort is ranked 20th).
 Loss or not, Chestnut Ridge got some senior leadership from  Isabella Hillegass and  Ashlie Weaver.  Hillegass  scored eight points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals, while  Weaver.  scored 13 points along with six  rebounds. Hillegass hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
 Leading Bishop McCort to victory were  Gianna Gallucci and  Cami Beppler.  Gallucci  scored 21 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals, while  Beppler  scored 21 points along with five  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Beppler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Ava Zucco, who  scored ten points along with four  steals.
 Chestnut Ridge has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost six of their last eight matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Bishop McCort, the  victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
 Chestnut Ridge will head out on the road to  face off against  Bishop Carroll at 7:15  p.m.  on Monday. Bishop Carroll knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Chestnut Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Bishop McCort, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richland at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Richland is coming into the  matchup on a three-game losing streak.
