Basketball Recap: Bella Plesea's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sacramento Adventist over Faith Christian

After flying high against Sacramento Country Day last Tuesday, Sacramento Adventist came back down to earth. The Sacramento Adventist Capitals came up short against the Faith Christian Lions on Thursday, falling 66-40. The Capitals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Several Capitals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Plesea, who posted eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and six steals. Plesea is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyla Friedrich, who went 5 for 7 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Sacramento Adventist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Sacramento Adventist's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-5. As for Faith Christian, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.

Sacramento Adventist and Faith Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Sacramento Adventist (ranked 374th) will meet John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills (ranked 851st) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacramento Adventist is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Faith Christian will challenge Sacramento Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 1,042 places (188 vs. 1230). Sacramento Adventist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
