The Pitman Pride entered their tilt with the Turlock Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pitman managed a 39-35 victory over Turlock on Thursday. For Pitman, this counts as revenge for the 38-33 defeat Turlock walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pitman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dailynn Greener, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Greener is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tusi Elisaia, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Turlock lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chloe Wong. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Wong pulled down eight or more rebounds. Olivia Walker was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Pitman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Turlock, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
Pitman will be playing in front of their home fans against Enochs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pitman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Thursday. As for Turlock, they will head out on the road to face off against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Turlock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Thursday.
