Ardrey Kell has gone a perfect 3-0 against Palisades recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on October 3. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Ardrey Kell will be strutting in after a victory while Palisades will be coming in after a loss.
Ardrey Kell will bounce into Friday's game after beating Chambers, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-13 win over the Cougars on Friday.
Ardrey Kell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jared Curtis out in front who threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns. The Knights' leading receiver Khylieb Rodriguez was Curtis' top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, Palisades came up short against Independence on Friday and fell 27-20. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Patriots are ranked tenth).
Ardrey Kell will need to focus on slowing down Jolani Legette, one of several Palisades players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 120 receiving yards and one TD. Legette was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Lincoln Wise, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Palisades' defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Jameus McRae was especially locked on to Independence's QB and sacked him twice. Palisades got some further help from Joshua Watts: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Ardrey Kell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.7 points on average over those games. As for Palisades, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Ardrey Kell didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Palisades in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 13-9 win. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pumas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
