Appalachian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took down the Ragland Purple Devils 34-19. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 27, 2017, but that streak is no more.
Appalachian found their leader in sophomore Colton Caldwell, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 105 yards and one TD on only seven passes. Those 208 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Caldwell.
