After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lutheran, Air Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Kadets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Bailey Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Keira Finkle was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September. Rideau Dravida was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Air Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo Centennial only posted an OBP of .364.
Air Academy's record now sits at 15-6-1. As for Pueblo Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Air Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pueblo Centennial, they will head out to square off against Canon City at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
