The El Modena Vanguards will be taking part in a tournament against the Canyon Comanches  at 6:15  p.m.  on Monday. El Modena will be strutting in after a  victory while Canyon will be coming in after a  defeat.
Having struggled with three  losses in a row, El Modena  turned things around against La Serna  on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp  11-2 win.
 Cash Ferinac looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits. What's more,  he posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in February.

 On the hitting side,  Logan Honikel was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Those  four  hits gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Adrian Perez, who  went 3-for-5 with three  RBI and one  stolen base.
 El Modena was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .444. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile,  after a string of three wins, Canyon's good fortune finally ran out  on Saturday. They fell  4-1 to San Dimas.
 Gilbert Vargas was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Canyon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Blake Lau, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for El Modena, their record is now 3-10.
